End of Year Social - November 2021
The end of year social meet proved to be a massive success with 19 attendees.
Friday saw some club members who had headed up early get some quality rock routes in before we all settled in the lounge for the evening. Tales were swapped about the days intrepid events including various teams being almost struck by lightning!
Saturday saw a large contingent head up Snowdon in blustery conditions who, by all accounts, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A few of us headed to “White Goods” for some dry tooling whilst “Team Issac” opted for a more sheltered walk (very sensible).
That evening the much hyped Spag Bol was built in the kitchen and I also subjected club members to a pub quiz with team names chosen by me!
“Norfolk ‘n’ Chance”
“Not So Great Expectations”
“DENSA”
“E for Idiots”
The “Norfolk ‘n’ Chance” team, headed by Simon, won, and I suspect 7 month old Issac provided most of the answers!
We also saw the club awards presentation with Paula and Josh (her adopted “club son”) cleaning up. Paula came away with the Club Member award with Lee Storey and Steve Miles in 2nd and 3rd. Paula also picked up Most Improved with Richard Warwick and Adrian Gibbs in 2nd and 3rd. Josh took away the Epic award …he was the only nominee!
The evening rounded off with everyone retiring in the lounge complete with a roaring fire any blacksmith would be proud of! We then set about drinking the entire Welsh reserve of Baileys and Whiskey!
Sunday saw most of us head to Little Tryfan for a days rock climbing (in the rain) before heading home slightly damp but happy!
It was great to see so many new club members enjoying themselves and approaching the weekend with such enthusiasm.
Here’s looking to 2022!
